Highlights: Great American Picnic at Harmony Hall-Jacob Sloat House!

After all the recent rain, Harmony Hall's Great Lawn was restored to green and the sun was out allowing our quartet of wind and brass musicians to set up their chairs, music stands and sheet music, held tightly with clothespins, in front of the mansion. Light was perfectly provided by the sun lingering in the west as it does on long early summer days. Our Great American Picnic at Harmony Hall-Jacob Sloat House commenced.

The selection of music matched the occasion with guests of all ages sitting along the top of the lawn. Some with picnic refreshments and beverages packed for the event – attentive to the rich counterpoint of notes in the skilled arrangements of Americana including patriotic songs, marches, and folk music.

Hats off to Harmony Hall board member Stephanie Hand for organizing and so expertly performing alongside talented members of the Hudson Valley Wind and Brass Ensemble.
