The Ticking Tent, founded by Christina Juarez and Benjamin Reynart, held its inaugural one-day shopping extravaganza at Valley Rock Inn & Mountain Club, in Sloatsburg, New York, on Saturday, March 16. It featured handcrafted items and worldly treasures from over 30 talented artisans, makers, antique dealers, and sponsors nationwide. This shop-til-you-drop curated event attracted 900 visitors to Sloatsburg. When the initial 800 tickets sold out in a flash, Michael Bruno, owner and developer of Valley Rock Inn, suggested to Christina that she provide an additional 100 tickets exclusively to VRI customers, with 100% of the proceeds from those sales donated to Harmony Hall-Jacob Sloat House's restoration campaign.
Marianne Carroll, Harmony Hall board member and financial secretary, who attended the event said, “I was delighted to see so many designers and artisans that I know and love. It was a great event for all!"
The Friends of Harmony Hall are incredibly grateful to Michael Bruno for his support of Harmony Hall and to the Ticking Tent for agreeing to his idea. Christina Juarez and Benjamin Reynart presented Harmony Hall with a check for $2500 for our “Not Just a Front Porch” Campaign.
