Memorial Day Weekend Wishes & News!

Updated: May 25, 2020

Dear Friends of Harmony Hall,

As many of us have revised our traditional celebratory customs around Memorial Day this weekend, we want to take this opportunity to remember the sacrifices of those to have served our country. We also would like to extend our thanks and appreciation for your support to our ongoing efforts to restore Harmony Hall. We are now developing innovative programs that will allow us to gather both virtually and in ways that meet socially distant public health measures.

With the recent donation from Harmony Hall member Dr. Carole Weaver Linsner, we now have a “kitchen galley” sink and cupboards in the process of being installed and details streamlined. This new addition will go a long way to help us for future events.

Volunteers Randi Colton and Marianna Krichevsky joined board members Kathy Goldman and Tenley Escoffrey to do the hard labor of spring planting at Farmony, our 19th century garden.

Tenley is spearheading the committee formed to explore a Community Cookbook project with articles, photos and recipes on historical dishes that may have been served at Harmony Hall from the produce grown in the garden.

Click the side arrows in the photo below to view a brief slide show of Farmony.

Summer Solstice this year will be celebrated online via Geoff Welch's narrated virtual slide show including original music for which you will receive an email link, so watch your inbox just before summer arrives.

The success of last year’s August Plein Air Art Show which was held on the Great Lawn at Harmony Hall is now being reconfigured in partnership with the Sloatsburg Chamber as a Sloatsburg-wide outdoor event. Painters and artists will be located in different locales painting, drawing, photographing, and sculpting various historic sites and places of interest in our lovely Village of Sloatsburg, including Harmony Hall. Social distancing protocols will be in place...

more details to come on this very exciting event.
