Heavy morning rain did not discourage loyal Bluegrass fans from attending our 2023 Highland’s Bluegrass Music & Crafts Festival held on Sunday, September 10th. Except for a slight drizzle at the very beginning of the concert, they were rewarded with several hours of truly excellent musical performances and a dry day. It may have been grayish up above, but the colorfully clad concertgoers tapped to the beat of four great bands while enjoying the food, drinks, and crafts provided by local vendors. Weather is always a challenge when you plan an outdoor event, and we are exceedingly grateful to all those who supported the Friends of Harmony Hall by coming out despite it.
We will continue to produce this popular event hoping for the best with the continued support of the public, the spirited musicians, and our fine sponsors. Proceeds from the event will go towards the front porch restoration. The Friends have raised $130,000 of the $155,000 goal to restore the failing front veranda. Hopefully, by next year’s event, guests will see a newly constructed frontispiece of the mansion. Tax-deductible donations can be made on our website here.
2024🎵😎🎵
After a short drive up to Sloatsburg to The Harmony Hall Bluegrass Festival we were rewarded with pretty grounds filled with craft and food vendors on a grassy slope with shade trees. There was a stage at the far end where put our stadium chairs and enjoyed the foot stomping music of Blue Plate Special and others. The day turned out to have blue skies and a feel good vibe. I hope to come back for more fabulous music in the future on the amazing historical grounds of Harmony Hall.
