Join us for our first "Music, Magic & Mystics: Mardi Gras Celebration" this Saturday, March 2nd, 7:30pm to 11pm!
Looking forward to having actress and singer/songwriter Ugochi Nriaka perform! Back by popular demand, Ugochi will be performing songs by Peggy Lee, Nina Simone, Etta James, and many others!
A Little History:
As a child, she was surrounded by music and dance and was honored to be selected for Rockland's All County Chorus.
At the age of 15, Ugochi joined the Hudson Lyric Opera and wowed the crowd with her rendition of "Your Daddy's Son". She has starred in several performance pieces including her role as Ms. Proctor in Gian-Carlo Menotti's opera, “The Boy Who Grew Too Fast" at State University at Albany. Ugochi also dazzled the audience singing “Fill the Pages” as Margaret in Bea & Ben at the Musical Theatre Conservatory at Barrington Stage Theater in Berkshire County, Pittsfield, MA.
At the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Ugochi received the Standard of Excellence Award (first ever in conservatory history).
Ugochi spends most of her time studying musical greats such as Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Otis Redding, and the more modern artist, Anderson Paak. She is an active member of the collegiate performing arts group, Phenomenal Voices.
Next for Ugochi?
This Summer, Ugochi will be making her way to Charlottesville, Virginia, where she will be playing the role of 20-year-old Hadiyah in the upcoming web film series Black Enough, which will ultimately be her film debut.
